Founded in 1882 by Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney and parishioners of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, the Knights of Columbus embodies the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. Our mission is to provide spiritual and financial protection for Catholic families while fostering a sense of community and faith among members from diverse backgrounds and stages of life.

John Mahon - General Agent

  • How long as an agent? 27 years
  • Prior Experience? Owned two grocery stores before starting with KoC
  • Passionate About? Deeply devoted to his faith, family, and instilling strong values in his children. He also enjoys golf, supports local sports, and is committed to giving back generously to the communities they serve.

 

David Soukap - Assistant General Agent

  • How long as an agent? 24 years
  • Prior Experience? Former farmer and agricultural salesman before joining KoC
  • Passionate About? Passionate about his faith, spending time with family, sports, and giving back to the community through supporting local charities.

 

Scott Hinkebein - Financial Advisor

  • How long as an agent? 14 years
  • Prior Experience? Started with KoC early in his career
  • Passionate About? Strong commitment to faith, family, and raising children with solid values. He enjoys golf and local sports while making an impact through charitable contributions to the communities KoC passionately supports.

 

Jeremy Mahon - Assistant General Agent

  • How long as an agent? 3 years
  • Prior Experience? Worked as a Hy-Vee District Manager before joining KoC
  • Passionate About? Enjoys making an impact in his community through charitable work. Also enjoys spending time with his family and his faith.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 2- or 4-year degree preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to quickly obtain (or reinstate) state insurance licenses and FINRA certifications
  • To align with the Knights of Columbus charter and IRS nonprofit status, agents/advisors must meet the organization's membership requirements, which are limited to Catholic men as defined by the governing body.*
